J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma CA, along with BJP J&K Vice-President Priya Sethi, Anita Gandotra and Sunita Sareen, on Monday felicitated Rollball World Cup gold medallists Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha Sarin at the BJP headquarters in Jammu.
The felicitation ceremony was organised to honour the outstanding performance of the duo at the 7th Rollball World Cup, held in Dubai from December 14 to 18, 2025, where the Indian team secured gold medals.
Representing India in the men’s and women’s categories respectively, Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha Sarin clinched gold medals, bringing laurels to the nation and pride to Jammu and Kashmir.
Congratulating the players, Sat Sharma lauded their dedication, discipline and hard work, stating that their achievement has made not only Jammu and Kashmir but the entire country proud. He said such international successes reflect the immense sporting potential of India’s youth and serve as an inspiration for aspiring athletes, particularly young girls.
“Hiteshwar and Suvidha’s gold medals are a matter of pride for the nation. Their success shows that with commitment and the right support, our athletes can excel at the global level,” Sat Sharma said. He also highlighted the Central Government’s initiatives such as Khelo India and improved sports infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which are providing new opportunities to sportspersons.
Priya Sethi also congratulated the gold medallists, describing their achievement as a strong message of the growing participation and success of women in sports. She said Suvidha Sarin has emerged as a role model for young girls, proving that women can excel in every field when given equal opportunities and encouragement.
She added that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir possess immense talent and, with proper platforms and institutional support, can compete successfully at national and international levels. Achievements like these, she said, inspire young athletes and enhance the region’s presence on the global sports map.
Hiteshwar Singh and Suvidha Sarin expressed gratitude to the BJP leadership for the honour and thanked their coaches, teammates and families for their continued support.
