Srinagar: Internet services in Shopain district have been suspended following the gunfight between security forces and militants in Kundalan village which broke out  early morning today.

The services were restored on Monday after three days suspension owing to the three civilian killings in the area including a teenage girl.

Sources said that the internet services including broadband services were suspended after the area witnessed gunfight and clashes subsequently.

At least twenty people have been injured so far in the clashes after people tried to disturb the ongoing anti militancy operation.

Reports said that the forces fired in air and resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse the protesting civilians aiming to offer the safe passage for militants trapped in an encounter.

Two army men including an officer were also injured in the ongoing gunfight. Both are evacuated to 92 Base hospital in Srinagar.
