Shopian’s Shalwar residents demand proper road connectivity

 Residents of Shalbanjer area in Shopian district Saturday complained about lack of basic facilities particularly road connectivity in the village.

Locals from the area told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that their village lacks basic facilities.

“We are without basic amenities as for the last 60 years, politicians visited the village for votes and no developmental work is being done on ground.” residents said.

Waqar Ahmad, a local said that there is no proper road connectivity to the area due to which they are suffering and they have to carry a patient on cart for kilometers so that he can be taken to hospital.

“We have to carry brides in a cart for a few kilometers as there is no proper road connectivity to the area,” they said.

Ab Gani, another local resident, said that they are living a miserable life as no one comes to their rescue despite participating in every election.

They said that after hectic efforts the issue of water supply has been resolved recently but the main issue for the area is road connectivity.

Locals said that they have brought their issues to the notice of concerned authorities several times to no avail
