Pakistani security forces conducted an operation and killed two terrorists, including a high-value target, in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Friday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a statement that security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Tank district of the province late Thursday night.

According to the ISPR, security personnel cordoned off the site after getting information about the presence of the terrorists, leading to the killing of the terrorists during the fire exchange.

The terrorist commander named Gul Yousaf alias Toor was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies, and the Pakistani government had fixed a head of 2.5 million Pakistani rupees (about 8,900 U.S. dollars) on him, according to the ISPR.

The military said that Yousaf remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces, including high-profile terrorist attacks as well as extortion and the killing of civilians.

“The security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” said the military.
