In view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has extended winter vacations for all government and private schools located in the Summer Zone of Jammu till January 17, 2026.
According to an official order, the extension of vacations as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) will apply to both students and teaching staff. However, it clarified that board examinations for Classes 10th to 12th, if already scheduled, will be conducted strictly as per the notified dates.
The Directorate has also advised schools to explore the option of conducting online classes for students from Class 6 onwards during the extended vacation period.
Meanwhile, preparations for Republic Day 2026 will continue as per the schedule issued by the competent authorities, the order added.(KINS)
