Kulgam:  Police Monday arrested a teacher in a case for inflicting corporal punishment on a fifth class student at a Private school in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. 

The accused was identified as Shanawaz Lone, a teacher of Islamia Institute School located at Parigam village. 

A police official told CNS that the teacher wounded grievously 11 years old boy Aadil Ahmed Dar, a resident of Baiebrada Yaripora by hitting his eye with a stick. The student has been admitted in the hospital under MRD number 43727 in ward 8. After an incident, the father of victim complained to the police against the accused teacher and subsequently the teacher was detained under relevant charges. “We have filed a case against the teacher vide FIR number 94/2015 under 338 RPC and he has been detained,” a police official said.
