15 booked in Kashmir under Narco Act

Police on Wednesday said 15 drug smugglers have been booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS) Act in Kashmir valley.

Ten of them were identified as Bashrat Ahmad Raina of Salamabad, Changez Khan of Bandi and Syed Mehtab Hussain of Paranpeelan in Uri; Manzoor Ahmad Lone aka Munna of Lachipora Bijhama, Nazar Din Bhatti of Madiyan Kamalkote, Imran Ahmad Khan of Noorkhah, Ashiq Hussain Parray aka Elahi of Lawaypora HMT, Altaf Ahmad Mir of Malpora Sopore, Amir Subhan Malla of Watergam Wagoora & Sahil Ahmad Reshi of Chanpora Kunzer who were booked under PIT NDPS Act in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.


These 10 men were actively supplying drugs to local youth of Uri, Lachipora, Bandi, Kamalkote, Paranpeelan, Noorkhah, Nowpora, Wagoora, Kreeri, Kunzer & other areas of Baramulla district. They are repeated offenders under the narco act.


Five others identified as Mohammad as Ramzan Sheikh aka Ramm Sheikh of Wanpora Khudwani, Arif Ahmad Bhat of Brazloo Jageer, Firdous Ahmad Sheikh of Manchewa Yaripora, Shahid Ahmad Bhat of Brazloo Jageer and Hilal Ahmad Dar of Malwan Devsar were booked in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.


All 15 have been detained and lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu, police added.
