Security forces shot dead two militants in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
One of the slain militants is suspected to be involved in the killing of School teacher Rajni Bala. However, official confirmation is yet to be received.
The 36-year-old Rajni Bala, a School teacher and a resident of Samba in Jammu, was shot dead by militants at High School Gopolpora in Kulgam on May 31, 2022.
The anti militancy operation in the Mishipora area of Kulgam began on June 14 and there were two to three brief contacts with the militants during the past three days.
A fresh contact was established this afternoon in which two militants were killed.
The identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained, however, police suspected one of the killed militants is involved in the School Teacher’s killing.
Meanwhile, a gun battle erupted between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday, officials said.
