The Pennsylvania police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who shot two police officers during a Fourth of July gathering in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The shooting occurred at around 10 pm (local time) near the Parkway Welcome America events.
According to Fox News, a Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol officer suffered a graze wound to the head, and another received injuries in the shoulder.
Both are in stable condition.
Fox News cited videos taken at the scene showing a large police presence escorting people away from the area as fireworks continue nearby.
In a series of tweets, Pennsylvania Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, who represents the 181st district which includes Northern Philadelphia, said, “No other industrialized country in the world lives with these constant shootings. …We shouldn’t have to live like this. Family after family and community after community are forced to live with the gut-wrenching pain of gun violence.
