Srinagar, Oct 7, CNS: In a bid to give due representation to Women in Police Department, the State Government has raised a separate ‘Mahila Battalion’ (IRP15th Bn). This was stated by Minister for Home in response to a question raised by legislator Anjum Fazili in State Assembly. He said that the Police Department has taken a number of steps to encourage induction of women and promote their role, as a result of which, 2,447 women police officers and officials are presently working in various capacities in the department. He said that proper grievances redressal mechanism is in place in J&K Police for all Police personnel including women police personnel. (CNS)
