Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers and recovered 433 kg of grinded poppy straw from their possession in Awantipora.
Police Station Tral received specific information that one Showkat Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Nadar Tral in south Kashmir, has indulged in drug peddling and hoarded huge quantities of narcotic substances at his residential house.
A police party with the concerned Executive Magistrate raided the specific spot during which 433Kgs of grinded Poppy Straw was recovered from his house, police said.
The accused along with other three associates were arrested. They have been identified as Tawseef Ahmad Rather, Muzafar Ahmad Lone and Mohammd Saleem Khan.
A case has been registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation has been initiated.
