5 More Die Of Covid-19, Toll Reaches 127

Five more deaths related to Covid-19 were reported in J&K on Saturday, taking the tally of deaths related to Covid-19 to 127 in UT.

Among 5 new deaths, three including 75-year-old male from Dialgam Anantnag, 65–year-old from Alastang Ganderbal, and 80-year-old man from Baramulla were reported at SKIMS Soura, a 65-year-old man from Chogal Handwara and a 75-year-old woman from Makdoom Sahib Srinagar.

Dr Shifa Deva, Medical Superintendent at JVC Bemina said that a 65-year-old male from Chogal Handwara, who was shifted from SKIMS last night, died at JVC on Saturday morning at around 5 am.

Dr Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS Soura said that a 75-year-old man from Dialgam Anantnag died on Saturday, adding that the patient was admitted on 1st July in Ward 2A and was shifted to Infectious Disease block after he was tested positive where he died

He further stated that a 65-year-old man from Alesteng Ganderabal who was admitted on 29 June 2020 in Ward 2A and was tested positive Covid-19 and was later shifted to Infectious Disease Block where he died on Saturday at around 9 am.

He further added that a 80-year-old man from Baramulla was tested positive a day after his death.

His samples were taken on Friday and he died at around 6:30 Pm on Friday, he said

Dr Nazir Choudhary, Medical Superintendent at SMHS said that a 75-year-old from Makdoom Shab area of Srinagar who was admitted on July 03 died on Saturday.

With fresh five deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has mounted to 127 including 113 from Kashmir and 14 from Jammu division. (PTK)
