NIA attaches properties of alleged OGW linked to 2017 CRPF camp attack in Pulwama

The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday attached two residential structures in Pulwama district of south Kashmir belonging to an alleged Overground Worker who is accused in a 2017 attack on a CRPF camp.


Five CRPF personnel were killed when a three-member Jaish-e-Mohammad fidayeen squad stormed the CRPF Group Centre at Lethpora in Pulwama on December 31, 2017.


All three attackers, including two locals and a Pakistani , were killed in the ensuing encounter. The case was later taken over by the NIA in February 2018.


Official sources said that two houses of Fayaz Ahmed Magrey, who was arrested by NIA in the case during the investigation, were attached by the anti-terror agency on a court order issued on March 5.


The OGW Fayaz was charge-sheeted by NIA on August 1, 2018, for conspiring, along with local/Pakistani terrorists of JeM, to execute a fidayeen attack on CRPF Group Centre Lethpora, Pulwama. He allegedly carried out a recce of the CRPF center and provided logistic support to JeM terrorists before and after the attack.
