JK police celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas across Kashmir

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and patriotic spirit by JK Police across the union Territory.


The main event was held at the Armed Police Complex (APC) Zewan. Special Director General of Police, Coordination S J M Gillani administered the oath of unity. He also took the salute and led the officers and other ranks in paying floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.


Contingents of the BSF, CRPF, SSB, JKAP, IRP, Womens’ Battalion, SDRF, and Executive Police took part in the impressive march past.


Oath-taking ceremonies were held at district, unit, and wing headquarters across the UT. Senior officers administered the unity pledge to their respective personnel.


As part of the nationwide celebrations marking the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the Jammu and Kashmir Police organised a series of events across several districts, including Shopian, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Budgam, Kupwara, Sopore, and Handwara.


The events featured “Run for Unity’ marathons, pledge-taking ceremonies, parades, photo exhibitions, and Ekta Tree plantation drives aimed at promoting the values of national integration, peace, and communal harmony.


In all districts of Kashmir, impressive parades, marathons, and exhibitions highlighted the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Senior police officers, civil officials, students, and local residents participated in large numbers, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of unity and national integration.


Across districts, police personnel planted Ekta Trees symbolising growth, harmony, and collective resolve.

Officers lauded the active participation of students, youth, and civil society members in promoting Patel’s vision of a united India.


Reiterating its commitment, the JK Police said the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas observance reflected its dedication to fostering peace, unity, and communal harmony across the union Territory.
