The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir Crime Branch, in coordination with the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), on Thursday destroyed a large quantity of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, officials said.
The drug was destroyed at the incinerator facility in IGC Lassipora, Pulwama, in compliance with court orders.
The destroyed contraband included charas, ganja and psychotropic tablets seized by the ANTF during various anti-narcotics operations. The disposal was carried out through a scientific and environmentally compliant incineration process under the supervision of the Drug Disposal Committee, EoW said.
The exercise was conducted under the supervision of SSP EOW Kashmir and Chairman of the Drug Disposal Committee Abdul Waheed Shah, Deputy SP ANTF Kubra Nazir, Senior Prosecuting Officer EOW Abdul Bari and other officials.
Officials said the destruction of seized narcotics reflects the government’s continued commitment to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and efforts to curb drug abuse while dismantling the narcotics network across the region.
