JKBOSE, IUST Postpone Exams

Srinagar: J&K Board Of School Education on Sunday postponed examinations scheduled tomorrow, heeding to the concern expressed by the students following the killing of seven civilians in Kugam.
“The examination scheduled tomorrow (October 22) stand postponed and fresh examination dates will be announced later,” Chairperson/ Secretary Board Of School Education Veena Pandit told GNS.
The announcement comes minutes after GNS reported concerns by the students who said that it would be difficult for them to appear in the examinations scheduled on Monday.
 “Not only it would be difficult for us to reach the examination centers due to strike or possible restrictions in parts of Valley but our hearts are withering with pain over the innocent killings and emotional we are wrecked,” the students had said and urged the authorities to postpone the examination.
Students from south Kashmir said that there would be restrictions and transport was likely to be off the roads.
 “How can we reach examination centre in absence of transport and possibility of the protests,” a student from south Kashmir had said.
Meanwhile, as per a communication received from Kashmir University,  the examination of the papers of B.G 1st semester, scheduled to be held on Monday (October 22) has been rescheduled and shall now be conducted on Wednesday (24-10-2018) .
“However,  all the rest of the examinations scheduled to be conducted on Monday shall be held as per schedule,” reads the statement issued by Controller of Examinations, University Of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora announced that all examination scheduled tomorrow stand postponed. “New dates shall be notified,” the IUST said in a statement issued here. (GNS)
