Iran in a new strategic move to respond the sanctions laid down by US for choking its space in global oil market, has decided to seize the shipping way through “Strait of Hurmuz”.
“Strait of Hurmuz”, is a vital waterway in Gulf through which every year 20% of world’s oil is transported. Right now, US-Iran relations are all time high in tensions.
Thus far, US had deployed its B-52 bombers in warships like USS Lincoln. But yesterday, a closed sessions meeting took place in the Tehran. New developments in the crisis were discussed there. One of the Iranian government officials present in the event said,”Iran didn’t negotiate for deepening the crisis”.
Iran has made a new announcement. Iran’s general has said that the country as a gatekeeper of the way doesn’t want to close the “Strait of Hurmuz”, but if the hostilities of the Iran’s enemies will increase they will be able to retaliate too.
Iran’s top General Mohammed Baqri said, “If our oil doesn’t go through the strait, then the other countries’ oil will certainly not cross the strait too.”
Just in two days more, US will curtail down the waivers on Countries like India and China that are importers of Iranian Oil. US, have alleged Iran of destabilizing the Gulf, and last year President of US Donald Trump reneged the famous JCPOA pact. He pulled out the US from the nuclear deal and imposed various sanctions on Iran.
This intensified the rhetoric between these two countries, and has notably stringed a psychological war. Now the threat of seizing the “Strait of Hurmuz” involves many other countries like Kuwait, Iraq, UAE and Dubai in this imminent gulf-dire too. After the US-Iran’s peccadillo has escalated across the region and preponderated the most unforeseen and discerning consequences. The neighbouring countries’ economies can face the same demise as Iran’s do.
Although, the political threat of closing the “Strait of Hurmuz” from Iran isn’t anything new. It has been threatening with the same for many times, since past. But this time, Iran has said it as a quit banal measure in taking an immediate action if the US was not restoring its position.
Gulf Countries like Kuwait, UAE and Dubai sail through the strait too, to transport their Oil resources. This is a provocative movement to show Iran’s strength that how being hampered with indiscriminate sanctions can bring the catastrophe collectively on the neighbouring nations’ economies too
A Political Ananlyst in Lancseter while talking to the Aljazeera said that Iran would not do anything like closing the Strait of Hurmuz. In his words it was an Iranian typology to articulate their angry response. But he didn’t neglect to mention that seeming US President Tactics of dealing with Iran can bore any bash and that can come in any adverse form.
