Mother, Her Infant Baby Among 3 Injured In Cross-Border Shelling

Poonch: Three civilians including a mother-son duo were injured on Sunday evening in an exchange of fire between armies of India and Pakistan along Line of Control Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Reports reaching GNS said that the three persons received injuries during the shelling that started this evening in Shahpur sector.

The injured have been identified as Fatima Jaan (35) wife of Mohammad Qasim Gujjar (33), her infant baby (identity not known) and Mohammad Arif son of Mohammad Sayeed Rathore.The injured have been removed to District Hospital Poonch for treatment where all of them are said to be stable.Besides Shahpur, the armies also trade fire along the LoC in Saujiyan, Mendhar and Krishna Ghati Sectors.Few houses in these areas also got damaged during shelling, reports said.

When reports last came in, the intermittent exchange of firing was going on in Mendhar and Krishna Ghati sectors. (GNS)
