A day after day long suspension, the Amarnath Yatra began today from twin base camps of Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal districts, officials said.
The Yatra was suspended yesterday due to continuous heavy rains over last two days that had necessitated restoration work to be carried out on tracks along both the routes.
“The yatra resumed from both routes this morning,” an official said.
So far, over 2.51 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine since the yatra began on July 3.
