Srinagar: The business community especially from commercial Hub Lal Chowk on Tuesday stated that the absence of parking slots here has caused huge losses to them.
According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), members from trade bodies said that the traffic policemen are not allowing the commuters to park their vehicles on the roadsides while there are no parking slots available, therefore the shoppers couldn’t park their vehicles to buy essentials from the market, causing huge losses to them.
Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) leader Farhan Kitab, appreciated the steps being taken for regulation of traffic movement. However, he said that there should have been parking slots available for the people so that they could park their vehicles at suitable places and can easily throng the markets.
He said that the business community especially in Lal Chowk has suffered losses due to such actions by the concerned officials, adding that there has been no proper strategy available with the officials prior to taking these steps. They demanded authorities to look into the hardships being faced by the business community and take any favorable decision so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
