The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Jammu and Kashmir has registered a disproportionate assets case against Nazir Ahmed Wani, a retired Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) from the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department, Banihal.
An FIR bearing No. 02/2025, under Sections 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), has been filed at Police Station ACB Doda.
The case was initiated following a secret verification undertaken by the Bureau, which revealed that the retired official had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income during his service tenure.
According to the ACB, the verification uncovered that Wani had amassed substantial movable and immovable assets both in his own name and in the names of his family members. These include:
A residential house in Gujjar Nagar, Jammu, A double-storey house in Maitra, Ramban, A residential complex with three shops at Chareel, Banihal Multiple vehicles.
Acting on this evidence, the ACB obtained a search warrant from the Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda. A search operation was subsequently conducted at Wani’s residential complex located on Old National Highway Road, Chareel, in Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban, in the presence of a Magistrate and independent witnesses.
The investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings will follow based on the evidence gathered.(KINS)
