After Militants Strike in South Kashmir, Forces Review Counter Insurgency Methodology

In view of successful militant strike over the CRPF in South Kashmir on Monday in which six CRPF men were injured, the security grid has evaluated the counter insurgency methodology and subsequent lapses which are inflicting the damage to them.

In a meeting of top security officials including Director General CRPF Prakash Mishra, Inspector General Police., Kashmir Zone Javaid Mujtaba Geelani, IGP, CRPF (operations), the prevailing security situation was thoroughly discussed.

Sources said that the matters related to growing militant attacks on the government forces and a strategy to stop them was discussed.

“There is a spurt in attacks from militants on security forces especially CRPF in south Kashmir which is being deployed for the security of convoys. The matter was viewed as a serious security lapse and measures were discussed to stop them,” said the sources privy to the developments in meeting.
