New Delhi: Jammu Kashmir Alig Association run by Kashmiri Muslim students in Aligarh Muslim University Wednesday while expressing sorrow over the murder of Zahid Rasool Bhat said that the brutal killing of Zahid of Kashmir, Ikhlaq of UP and Nouman in Himachal by communal elements is a wakeup call for who still believe that India is run by secular forces.
In a statement to CNS, the Association said that the killings of innocent Muslims has shaken the conscience of whole society while the  recurrence of such incidents is a wake-up call for all those people who believe in human dignity and freedom and preach tolerance in India.
“Udhampur attack is a “conspiracy to divide people on religious lines and communal forces in their lust of power are trying to pollute the atmosphere and communalize the State. The State of Jammu and Kashmir has been model of religious harmony where people of different religious beliefs have been living in love and affection but attempts are being made to communalize the people,” the statement reads.
While expressing sympathy with Zahid’s family, the Association appealed everyone including civil society members, irrespective of caste creed and colour to come forward and play vital and responsible role to strengthen communal harmony and brotherhood among different communities living in Jammu and Kashmir.
