Extends gratitude to government
Srinagar: Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) Wednesday hailed the re-opening of Tagore Hall after nearly nine years and said that government deserves appreciation for completing it on priority.
In a statement to KNS, AMK spokesman said that in absence of Tagore Hall, the artists, poets and other people related to the field of culture were facing enormous difficulties. The Tagore Hall had been closed nine years back for the purpose of renovation but it took eight years for governments to almost complete it last year. Unfortunately the September floods in 2014 again damaged it.
"However, after the new government took over the work to restore it was taken on priority and it was completed in a time bound manner" said the spokesman adding that it has come as a great relief for the community who were forced to go here and there to organise the programmes.
The spokesman extended gratitude to President of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Language (Chief Minister) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Minister for Culture Dr Haseeb Drabu, Minister for R & B Altaf Bukhari, Secretary Academy Dr Aziz Hajini and MD J & K PCC Abdul Hamid Sheikh for making it possible to throw it open so soon. "The personal intervention of Chief Minister and Cultural Minister made it possible that Tagore Hall is open today and we are thankful to all of them" said the spokesman. (KNS)
