Srinagar, April 21 (UNI) All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has expressed concern over the alleged politics being played over religion by the people at helm.
In a statement issued in connection with the 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina asserted that due respect should be given to any religion and all religious minorities should be allowed to practice their particular religion without any interference from any quarter whatsoever.
He expressed gratitude that Prime Minister Narinder Modi and Home Minister have lauded the supreme sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji for the safety of other religions during a function held at Red Fort, Delhi.
Raina said that it is everyone’s duty to protect one’s religion, but to sacrifice to protect the faith of others is only the story of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s sacrifice.
Raina said that in the recent past attacks on minorities in the country by some “fringe elements having patronage of the government are not allowing the people of different faiths and religions to practice their religion”.
Raina said that Guru ji is famously known for the protection he provided to the Sikhs and sacrifice for the protection of other religions against conversion.
“It is a Kashmiri pandits delegation who presented in the darbar of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji at Anandpur sahib for seeking blessings and help for protection”. The entire episode was Kashmir centric in sixteen century, he said.
