Army celebrates Armed Force Veterans Day in Handwara

Indian Army on Tuesday celebrated the 9th Armed Force Veteran’s Day in north Kashmir’s Handwara sub-district.

The Army said they organized an ex-servicemen’s rally at Pohrupet, Handwara to commemorate 9th Armed Force Veterans Day, honouring the invaluable contributions of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and Veer Matas.

The event reaffirmed the Army’s unwavering commitment to supporting its veterans and their families, they said

The rally saw an enthusiastic participation of a large number of ex-servicemen and families of martyrs. Various assistance booths were established, showcasing the collaborative efforts of government departments and local institutions towards addressing the concerns of veterans and extending assistance to them.

As a part of the rally, Government Medical College (GMC) set up a medical camp offering free consultations and healthcare services to the attendees.

Representatives of Agriculture, Horticulture, and Fisheries departments provided guidance on farming techniques and Government initiatives aimed at supporting rural livelihoods.

The civil administration and veterans’ Sahayata Kendra were also present to address the grievances of the Veterans and render necessary assistance.

The event was a testament to the strong bond between the Indian Army and its veterans, emphasizing their importance to the nation, the Army said.

A spirit of camaraderie and gratitude filled the air as officials and attendees shared stories and experiences.
