Haiderbegh: In recognition of the efforts made by meritorious students and specially abled children belonging to remote areas of Srinagar, a distribution function was organised at Widdipura Village by the Rashtriya Rifle Unit based at Sopore, defence spokesman said in a statement.

The distribution function was conducted at Widdipura ground where in stationary items and wheel chairs were distributed to the meritorious students and differently abled students hailing from needy families of the area. The assistance from Army was happily welcomed and appreciated by the recipients. The function was attended by children, parents, village elders and Sarpanches.

The locals of the area appreciated the effort of Army and stated that this holistic approach towards the needy students will facilitate them in their overall development and growth. This welfare measure was welcomed enthusiastically by the students which will rekindle the aspirations of the needy students. (KNS)
