At least 6 killed in US-Israeli strike east of Tehran: Reports

At least six people have been killed in a US-Israeli attack on Pardis County east of Tehran, the Mehr news agency reported on Tuesday.

The dead included three children, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence said that its air defence forces intercepted seven ballistic missiles near oil industry facilities in the kingdom’s Eastern Province on Monday night.

“Seven ballistic missiles fired toward the Eastern Province were intercepted and destroyed,” the ministry said on X.

According to the ministry, fragments of the ballistic missiles fell near energy facilities.

“The extent of the damage is being assessed,” the Ministry of Defence said.

The ministry also said that over the past few hours, air defence systems have intercepted 18 drones over the kingdom.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran responded by striking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.

The US and Israel initially claimed their “pre-emptive” attack was necessary to counter the perceived threat coming from Iran’s nuclear programme, but they soon made it clear that they want to see a change of power in Iran.
