At least 7 killed, over 80 injured in train collision in Indonesia

At least seven people were killed and 81 injured in a train collision in the city of Bekasi, east of the Indonesian capital Jakarta, Reuters reported citing a railway official.


Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the scene, the publication said.


The train collision occurred late on Monday at the Bekasi Timur station, when a commuter train and a long-distance train collided. The long-distance train rammed the rear carriage of the train, designated for women.
