Eight Odisha tourists injured after tempo traveller overturns in Kashmir's Baramulla

Eight tourists from Odisha were injured when a tempo traveller carrying them overturned on the Gulmarg–Tangmarg road in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, officials said.


The vehicle, carrying 11 tourists, was travelling from the tourist resort of Gulmarg to Tangmarg when it met with an accident and overturned, they said.


All the passengers were rushed to the Sub-District Hospital in Tangmarg for medical examination and treatment.


Preliminary medical reports indicated that eight tourists sustained minor injuries, while the remaining three escaped unhurt.


Two of the injured tourists were referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.


Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
