Arms, ammunition recovered : Army Averted
Jammu: Army on Saturday claimed to have averted a major strike in Jammu region by recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Galak area of Billawar Block of Kathua district.
A statement issued to KNO said that “in the wee hours of this morning, based on inputs from Military Intelligence, a joint operation by Army Brigade at Samba and Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched at Galak in Billawar Block of Kathua.”
“In the operation, a huge cache of War like stores including one AK-47 assault rifle, one AK-56 assault rifle, one hand grenade, four magazines, 256 rounds of AK ammunition and 59 rounds of Sniper ammunition was recovered,” the defense .It added that with this recovery, a major militants strike planned in Jammu region was averted major.(KNO)
