Lucknow, April 23 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and said that the people are terrorised and the law and order situation has been tarnished after incidents of murder of entire family one after another in Prayagraj, which has become a center of massacre.
In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, “On the intervening night on April 22 and 23 five members of a family were hacked to death in Tharwai in Prayagraj which is disturbing. A husband, wife, their daughter, daughter-in-law and a two-year-old innocent grand-daughter are among those killed in the incident,” he said.
He said that it is being apprehended that the daughter and the pregnant daughter-in-law were physically abused. The killers also tried to hide their misdeeds by setting the house on fire, he said.
Akhilesh said, “There have been two incidents of mass murder in Prayagraj in April month itself. On April 16 five members of a family were killed in Khagalpur village in Nawabganj area. Prior to this four members of a family were killed in Gohari village on October 25 last year. Serial killing in Prayagraj gives an idea of declining law and order.”
He said that the BJP government has failed completely on the law and order front. “The CM claims are turning out to be hollow from these murders everyday. The incidents of rape with women are recorded in the records of the National Crime Record Bureau. By neutralising the efforts made by the SP government to control crime, BJP has made it clear that its intention is to protect the criminals. The criminals protected by the government are active throughout the state,” he said.
