Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav met the party’s national general secretary and former minister Mohammad Azam Khan in Sitapur jail on Friday and inquired about his and his family’s well-being.
While speaking to reporters after the meeting, Akhilesh said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government had filed false cases against Azam.
“The government is harassing Azam Khan and his family. This is an inhuman act. The BJP is harassing Azam’s family and Arvind Kejriwal because it feels that these people will emerge as a force. To suppress them, the BJP is implicating them in false cases. Hopefully Azam Khan will get justice,” he said.
He said that the BJP government has gone beyond the world record in the case of false cases.
“BJP is misusing constitutional institutions and weakening democracy by suppressing the voice of the opposition. The BJP has committed a huge scam in the matter of electoral bonds. Due to this, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested in Delhi. The BJP government has no answer to the scams and recovery in electoral bonds. The BJP government is scared of the unity of the PDA and INDI alliance,” he said.
The SP chief said that inflation and unemployment have reached their peak due to the wrong policies of the BJP government. “Farmers, youth, the poor, the middle class, and women are all troubled. No matter how much injustice the BJP government may do or file false cases, one day only truth will prevail,” he said.
