Jammu and Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA) on Saturday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given “true honour” to Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar by upholding and promoting his legacy of social justice and equality through concrete initiatives.
Speaking at a programme organised on Mahaparinirvan Divas, Sat Sharma, along with senior BJP leaders including Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Prof. Gharu Ram, Dharminder Kumar, Balbir Ram Rattan and several DDC members, paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
“Dr. Ambedkar was a visionary who achieved greatness despite immense hardships. His life is a source of inspiration for every Indian. The BJP has always recognised his unparalleled contribution to the nation and honoured him with sincerity,” Sat Sharma said.
He highlighted the BJP-led government’s ‘Panchteerth’ initiative, under which five key sites linked to Dr. Ambedkar’s life were developed as national monuments. “This demonstrates our deep respect and commitment to Ambedkar’s philosophy,” he added.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal said Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong struggle for equality continues to guide the BJP’s welfare policies. “Numerous schemes under the Modi government—from education to social justice—are aligned with Ambedkar’s dream of an inclusive society,” he noted.
Prof. Gharu Ram said Dr. Ambedkar’s influence goes far beyond drafting the Constitution. “He was a pioneering reformer in economics, human rights and social transformation. Under BJP rule, his teachings have reached the grassroots more effectively,” he said.
BJP SC Morcha President Dharminder Kumar reaffirmed the Morcha’s commitment to fulfilling Ambedkar’s mission of empowerment, especially for Scheduled Castes and other marginalised groups.
The event proceedings were conducted by Morcha General Secretaries Rahul Hans, Mohinder Bhagat and Seema Devi, who also thanked participants for paying homage.(KINS)
