The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday said that several senior political figures and prominent social leaders from Kashmir joined the party at the headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, signalling growing confidence in the BJP’s development-oriented vision.
The new entrants were welcomed by J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, in the presence of other senior party leaders.
Those who joined the BJP included Mohammad Shafiq Khan, former J&K Police officer and District Vice President Kupwara of the Awami Ittehad Party, ex-serviceman Akhtar Ahmad War, and noted social activist and senior PDP worker Abdul Hameed Bhat. The induction was facilitated by senior BJP leader and former Budgam district president Sameer Ahmad Shah.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said the joining of experienced political workers, retired officials and social activists reflected the credibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the acceptance of his policies. He said the Modi government’s focus on transparent, people-centric governance and inclusive development has ensured that progress reaches the grassroots without discrimination, reaffirming BJP’s commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashok Koul said Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed focused and holistic development under Prime Minister Modi, with improvements in infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education and welfare delivery.
The newly inducted members expressed faith in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and pledged to work for unity, development and public welfare under the BJP banner.(KINS)
