Srinagar: The police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district are investigating into the claims of shopkeeper who said that he escaped unhurt after unknown gunmen fired upon him today evening.shooting

Mohammad Ramzan Dar (60) who is shopkeeper by profession of Kanispora had lodged a complaint with police that some unknown gunmen shot at him from point blank range with a pistol. However, he said he escaped unhurt since they were not aiming at him.

So far the claims of Dar could not be substantiated as police failed to trace any empty cartridge on spot.

Dar told police that the person was also accompanied by another one who was standing on the opposite side of the road.

“Both of them after firing fled away from the spot,” he said.

“Ramzan Dar is apparently a law abiding citizen with no militancy or anti militancy back ground,” SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Hussain told The Legitimate. “Apparently it doesn't look like a militant attack and we are investigating the claim.”

Pertinently, few days ago in same area, unknown persons planted a fake IED on Srinagar-Muzafferabad Highway creating panic among locals. The police are also investigating into that.
