The group of female activist presented the gifts to females along with the literature to inspire them to understand the importance of hijab for women in public life.
“This was the first initiative of its kind taken by the organization to inspire women folk to maintain sanctity of Hijab. The campaign was held by the council for the first time in Kashmir valley which was responded very positively across,” reads the statement.
“The council drew the attention of people on the significance of Hijab which is need of the time and is the religious practice across all faiths and Muslim in particular,” it adds.
Moreover, the IMUC outlined that Kashmir is the valley of saints and the essence of Hijab is in the blood, Islamic culture which is the heritage of this place and that has been manipulated by westernization.
Campaign stressed to practice the Hijab as an Islamic ethic and to maintain its sanctity.
