The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday released the tentative schedule for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations for the 2025–26 academic session, with exams set to begin on February 17, 2026.
For the first time, Class 10 board exams will be conducted twice in an academic year. The first set of exams will be held from February 17 to March 6, 2026, while the second set is scheduled between May 15 and June 1, 2026, according to CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.
Class 12 board examinations will run from February 17 to April 9, 2026, covering all major subjects.
Bhardwaj also outlined a revised evaluation process, stating that assessment of answer scripts will begin around 10 days after each subject’s examination and will be completed within 12 days. For example, evaluation for the Class 12 Physics exam scheduled on February 20 will begin on March 3 and conclude by March 15.
Officials said the move aims to reduce stress among students, streamline evaluation timelines, and ensure timely declaration of results.(KINS)
