A Congress delegation met the Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora here on Monday and lodged a complaint with regard to edited, fake videos and posts that are being circulated on some social handles.

The delegation was led by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav and included Pawan Khera and Supriya Shrinate, among others.

After meeting the Police Commissioner, Yadav briefed the media and said that an attempt was being made to spread social animosity by editing the video through some social media handles.

He said, “Two days ago, we registered a complaint at the Tuglak Road police station regarding such videos. But we were made to sit for two hours just to take our complaint. In our complaint, we also shared the links where such videos and posts were being circulated.”

He said that it was unfortunate that such videos were being retweeted by many important members of the main party (BJP).

“We hoped that an FIR would be registered in the case, but nothing happened, so we met the Delhi Police Commissioner today,” he added.

Accusing the Central government of taking the government agencies hostage, the Delhi Congress chief said, “On one hand, our workers in Telangana are being arrested by the police taking suo moto and on the other hand, it is taking two hours to register a complaint in Delhi.”
