Jan cautions people against divisive policies of PDP-BJP duo

Poonch: Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan on Wednesday lambasted PDP-BJP coalition for dividing society on communal and regional lines with sinister objective of strengthening their respective constituencies and diverting attention of the people from real issues.

“Problems are manifold and these keep accumulating due to vision-less policies of the government and administrative inertia” Jan said while welcoming prominent Congress workers into the party fold at a function here this morning.

He said that divisive agenda is detrimental for a state like Jammu and Kashmir which has withstood test of times during most turbulent situations. He said National Conference was the only party that believes in harmonious growth of society and equal opportunities to all irrespective of region, religion or caste. He said the party has offered numerous sacrifices since its inception to keep this tradition alive and urged the workers to maintain this spirit and work for the upliftment of people as a whole.

The Provincial Youth National Conference President said the coalition government has lost its direction and its myopic vision has caused a developmental vacuum, which if not addressed timely will deteriorate the quality of life of people. He said the government cannot afford to be non-challant when it comes to development of remote, backward and the border areas of the state.

Jan criticised the present dispensation for adopting diversionary tactics to cover up failures on administrative front. He referred to erratic power supply and drinking water, scarcity of rations at CAPD depots besides delay in salaries to various segments of employees and workers and said the problems of the people continue to increase. He also expressed concern over the border dwellers who have been left in lurch by the insensitive government.

The former MLA hoped that the new entrants, Haji Abdul Razak Dahdar, a senior Congress worker, and his associates will further strengthen National Conference at grass roots level and help in maintaining tranquility and peace.

Those who spoke on the occasion included  Bagh Hussain Rathoor, Peer Anyat Bukhari, Manzoor Mir, Sadar Hazara Singh, Munshi Khan, Ch Gani, Chairman Mohd Sadiq, Dr Ch Gani, Mohd Rafiq, Mohd Shafi Mir, Ab Hamid, Haji Mohd Sadiq Bhatti, Haji Mohd Sadiq Mayar, Mohd Azam, Mohd Farooq, Mohd Khalid Banch, Mohd Razak and Haji Wazir Mohd Khakar.
