Court reserves order on Gyanvapi worship

Varanasi, May 30 (UNI) Hearing on an application seeking permission to allow daily worship of a Shivling-like structure found inside Gyanvapi mosque complex was held in the fast track court on Monday.

The fast court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Mahendra Kumar Pandey has reserved its order till 4 pm.

During the hearing, Abhay Nath Yadav, the counsel of the respondent, sought a copy of the application.

The application was moved initially in the court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar on May 24, who transferred it to the fast track court on May 25.

The application has been filed by General Secretary of Vishwa Vaidik Sanatan Sangh Kiran Singh, who has requested that the entry of Muslims should be restricted in the Gyanvapi mosque and its premises should be handed over to the Hindus.

The applicant has also requested that permission should be given for daily worship of the Shivling-like structure, which was found in the wazookhana inside the complex.

Meanwhile, hearing in the Gyanvapi mosque complex case will resume in the court of District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha.
