DIG reviews crime, UAPA cases in Anantnag; stresses intelligence boost

Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo on Monday chaired a review meeting on crime and UAPA-related cases at the Anantnag, directing officers to strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure timely follow-up in sensitive cases.


The meeting was attended by SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure, SP North Camp Aishmuqam Rameez Raja and senior officers.


A police spokesman said a detailed review of ongoing investigations in crime and UAPA cases was undertaken during the meeting.


The DIG stressed expeditious disposal of cases, adherence to legal procedures, and maintaining high standards of investigation. He also emphasized enhanced coordination among field officers and proactive policing to curb criminal and anti-national activities.


He also directed officers to strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure timely follow-up in sensitive cases.


SSP Anantnag briefed the meeting on the prevailing crime scenario and progress achieved in various investigations.


The meeting concluded with directions to all officers to remain vigilant, professional, and committed towards maintaining peace, security, and rule of law in the district, the spokesman said.
