Dr Jitendra launches ‘Karmayogi AI classroom’, reiterates ‘rule to role’ Governance shift

Date:

Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh on Thursday said capacity building in government must be a continuous, role-based process to meet changing administrative demands. Addressing an event on “AI for Capacity Building: Transforming Governance”, he said the framework under Mission Karmayogi reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to prepare officials beyond rule-based functioning.

The Minister said the iGOT Karmayogi platform marks a shift from “rule to role”, helping officers become more accountable and outcome-oriented. He noted that Mission Karmayogi has expanded across ministries and now includes new recruits through Mission Karmayogi Prarambh.

Highlighting the use of Artificial Intelligence, Dr Singh said AI tools like AI Saarthi and AI Tutor are enabling personalised learning and better planning, while stressing that AI should complement, not replace, human judgement. The event also saw the launch of the AI-enabled “Karmayogi Classroom” to enhance interactive learning for civil servants.(KINS)
