ED raids in Chandigarh, Punjab over Guava orchard scam

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids at various places in Chandigarh and Punjab, reportedly in connection with Guava orchard scam in Mohali, sources said.


The raids were conducted at Punjab IAS and Excise & Taxation commissioner Varun Roojam’s Chandigarh residence among other places.


Around 20 locations were raided, sources added.
Raids were still underway.


The alleged Rs 130 crore scam involves land grabbing in the guise of planting guava trees. The land was supposed to be acquired by Greater Mohali Area Development Authority.


The houses of those who had invested in were raided.
