Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Javid Ahmad Dar on Monday said the government is assessing the losses suffered by farmers due to the recent floods and the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
“Five days ago, I saw the condition of the road, which was very bad, and renovation work is still going on.
Various departments are currently assessing the losses. It will take a few more days to compile the report, which will then be forwarded to the Centre government for compensation,” Dar told reporters in Baramulla on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new campus of Baramulla Public School.
The minister, according to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) said that train services have also been started to transport fruits outside the Valley and will be a continuous process in the future. (KINS)
