‘Govt to Impose Restrictions to Foil Geelani’s ‘HMT Chalo’

Srinagar: The government has decided to impose strict curbs in various some parts of Srinagar to foil the “HMT Chalo’ called by Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani.
Geelani has called for the march to the residence of slain Gowhar Nazir Dar of Zainkoot to offer prayers anb condolences to his family.
Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone told KNS that there will be restrictions on tomorrow (Wednesday) in the areas falling under five police stations in Downtown, Maisuma in civil lines and also in the areas falling under Parimpora police station in city outskirts.
“The restrictions are a measure to prevent any law and order problem in Srinagar,” he said.
Hurriyat (G) chairman has asked people to march towards Mustafabad, HMT, the residence of slain youth for a condolence meeting and to express solidarity with his family.
The 22-year-old engineering student was killed by CRPF on November 7 the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Srinagar. (KNS)
