Srinagar, April 19 (UNI) A grenade was lobbed towards a police installation in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday evening, according to the police.
No injuries were reported in the attack, the police said.
They said militants targeted the Budgam Police station at 9.15 pm and lobbed a grenade which exploded outside the gate.
“Alert sentry fired upon the terrorists but they managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness,” a police officer said.

He said the area has been cordoned for search and checkpoints have been set on escape routes.
Earlier, the militants had attacked a minority guard picket in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. However, no injury was reported in the incident.
