Sunrisers Hyderabad rode on a sensational century partnership between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma to post a commanding total of 266 runs for the loss of seven wickets against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Saturday.

Head led the charge with a blistering innings, smashing 89 runs off just 32 balls, while Abhishek Sharma played a whirlwind knock of 46 runs off a mere 12 balls. Their aggressive batting display set the stage for Hyderabad’s imposing total, with the duo stitching together a crucial partnership of 131 runs.

However, Delhi Capitals fought back valiantly with Kuldeep Yadav leading the bowling attack. The leggie turned the game on its head by picking up three vital wickets, including the dismissals of Abhishek, Aiden Markram (1), and the dangerous Head.

Despite the setbacks, Shahbaz Ahmed’s unbeaten 59-run cameo towards the end propelled Hyderabad’s total beyond the 250-run mark. Heinrich Klaasen (15) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (37) also chipped in with useful contributions to bolster the team’s score.

Kuldeep was the standout bowler for Delhi, finishing with impressive figures of 4 for 55. Mukesh Kumar and Akshar Patel also contributed with a wicket each but couldn’t prevent Hyderabad from posting a huge total.
