Srinagar: A day ahead of Human Rights Day, the activists of Hurriyat Conference Jammu and Kashmir (HCJK) Wednesday staged a protest over the "rising human rights violation" in the state.

The protesters gathered at Mushatq Press enclave here and were raising slogans against India.

Shabir Ahmad Dar, a senior leader while talking to KNS said that the Government of India as well as the state government is collectively responsible over such kind of human rights violation which is happening in the state from past several decades.

“The recent study has mentioned Jammu and Kashmir among the top militarized zone in India thereby the government is using such forces in the state to suppress the voices of Kashmir’s innocent people,” Dar said.

He said that the forces are meant to humiliate human rights of people here in the state. “The ever-lasting Human Rights Violation seems to have no end here as with each passing day the forces are violating the rights openly and none among the violators has been punished so far,” Dar said.

While appealing the International community as well as the human rights groups to come forward, Dar said, “These groups should come forward and should look into the matter at earliest so that the violation will be ended in the Valley,” he said.

Meanwhile, the protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
