Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, today said that infiltration attempts along the Line of Control (LoC) have been significantly fewer this year compared to previous years, and all such attempts have been successfully foiled.
He attributed the success to heightened vigilance and advanced surveillance systems.
“We are maintaining full domination and vigilance along the LoC in close coordination with the Army.
Although we receive several intelligence inputs about infiltration attempts and the presence of terrorists at launching pads, the alertness with which our troops are operating has prevented any such attempt from succeeding,” the IG BSF told reporters after unveiling of statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at a BSF camp in Pantha Chowk, on Srinagar outskirts.
He added that this year, infiltration attempts have been significantly fewer compared to previous years.
“There were very few attempts, and we were able to fail all of them,” he said, noting that despite continuous efforts from the other side, BSF and Army units have maintained strict area domination.
“With winter still two months away, such attempts may continue,” he cautioned, “but through our strong presence on the ground and use of modernized surveillance equipment, we are ensuring that any attempt will be swiftly detected and neutralized.”
